Improvements on Granite Creek Road start at Mile Marker .54 (about ½ mile from the intersection of Branciforte Dr.) and extend to the Scotts Valley City Limits at Mile Marker 2.45 for a total of 1.91 miles.
Roadway removal and re-surfacing began on Monday August 27th and will last through September 21st. During this time Granite Creek Road will be closed to thru traffic during working hours, from 8:00am to 5:00pm M-F. Residents, mail, waste collection and emergency vehicles will be assisted through the work area, all others will be detoured. Detour signs will be in place during working hours to assist motorists.
During the week of September 10th, the cement mixing process will continue on the lower portion of Granite Creek Road (around Old Up Yonder Road). Paving is scheduled to begin on Thursday September 13th and complete on September 21st. Paving will begin at the Scotts Valley city limits and proceed down Granite Creek. Please watch for large trucks delivering the hot asphalt. Roadway re-striping will occur during the week of September 24th.
